Switzerland’s National Final 2011 of the Jeunes Chefs Rôtisseurs Competition was held on October 22nd in the city of Interlaken at the Bildungszentrum Interlaken bzi – a vocational High School – which offered the perfect location given its excellent facilities.
The event was presided over by René Kamber, Member of the Conseil Magistral, Bailli Délégué, and Conseiller Culinaire Irma Dütsch (voted best Swiss female chef) was President of the Jury.
Eight candidates from renowned Chaîne member hotels, among them three young women, participated in the annual contest. The winner of the Final and therefore recipient of the “Victorinox Trophy” was Pascal Derksen from the Grand Resort Bad Ragaz.
Pascal will now represent Switzerland at the 2012 International Final of the Jeunes Chefs Rôtisseurs Competition 2012, being held in Berlin in September.
